"Singin' in the Rain" The Rockville Centre Street Fair

So this past sunday (6/25) the Odd Fellows set up a booth at the annual Rockville Centre Street Fair. We were planning on selling ice cold bottles of Poland Spring and giving away some giant Hercules pens. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate - and the monsoons kept most of the vendors and crowd away from the street fair. I think we sold all of 6 bottles of water and everyone involved got drenched - however, we had excellent participation from the lodge and enjoyed the time we spent there. Thanks to all involved, Dave, Tom, Rich, Scott, Sal, etc.<p><br />Our next meeting will be an informal July card game. Details coming soon. Enjoy the summer!

Raconteur or Odd Fellow?

We have a photo of Jack White (White Stripes) and Brendan Benson, who are members of the super-hot rock band <i>The Raconteurs.</i> As you see, in the blow up of the photo Jack is holding the IOOF Guide to Odd Fellowship manual. So, are the Raconteurs also Odd Fellows? The GQ article does not mention anything about it - however it makes a good recruiting image! Thanks to Mike Zurrell for finding this one. <p><b><p>Remember, next meeting is our last one before summer break, Wed. June 21 - we will finalize our RVC Street Fair plans.
