Thanksgiving donation and lodge cleanup

Thanks to all the brothers who attended and were able to donate to the needy for the holidays.

Turkey Donation 2019: RVC Rec Center, Judy Griffin and Wounded Warrior Project

A busy weekend for all the Rockville Centre Odd Fellows. We donated 150 turkeys and $600 worth of canned goods to The Rockville Centre Rec. Center, Assemblywoman Judy Griffin's office, and The Nassau Firefighter's Wounded Warriors Project.<br />
<br />
After all that donating goods and food, we donated our time at the lodge and did some major cleaning (even upstairs!) - thanks to all the brothers who came down.<br />

Thanksgiving Turkey Drive

<b>Wow. </b>160 turkeys were purchased this year. A new lodge record (+32 over 2017 totals) plus  over 150 pounds of potatoes, and over 400 dollars in 
canned goods. It was a very successful day! Thanks to Brothers Tom M., Sal, Andre, Dave R., Corey, John P, the almost donated Otis, my son Jack and his girlfriend Samantha (who got the canned goods), and Sal's son Thomas for helping us unload. Great work Odd Fellows!<br />

Donation to the Rockville Centre Rec Center

Brothers donated Thanksgiving dinner to needy families today and cleaned up the lodge afterwards as per our yearly ritual. We set a goal of $1000.00 for our 20th year of donating turkeys to the rec center, and we more than doubled our goal. With the brothers help, we were able to donate $500.00 worth of canned goods, 128 turkeys, as well as 150 lbs. of potatoes. I would especially like to thank brothers John Pucciarelli, Dave Ajello, and Scott Odermatt along with Jack Ajello who got the canned goods and Brothers Jim Supple, Eric Rivara, and Dave Rees. This was one of the largest donations we have ever done and we should all be very proud of it.<br />

The sun was in our eyes but we gathered and donated turkeys to needy families this year -- and in memory of the late Mr. B. We donated over $700 dollars worth of turkeys to RVC. Afterwards a group went back to the lodge to repair the kitchen floor. </div>

Thanks as always goes to Brother Pucciarelli and his wife Kim for turkey delivery. Thanks first and foremost go
to Dave Rees. He spearheaded this project and did a lot of work.  John,
Scott, Andre, Corey, and Joe all worked to get the the floor done and it
came out amazing.
Thanks to Jim and John for getting the turkeys. Connor and Tom B for all
the attic cleaning; Mike Mac and Aaron with the Lodge clean up and
another thanks to Andre for fixing the faucet and toilet in the men's
room.  And last but not least, Eric for fixing the wall in the main
room.</div>
